“I wish we were calling for better reasons. Hell, if there were better reasons we wouldn’t be calling at all. We’d be celebrating your win once you returned. Anyway, down to business. The entire gang is here. Probably couldn’t do it again if we tried, all eleven of us are here for you,” Hudson said through the van’s Bluetooth,

“You are right, you probably couldn’t. Bobby isn’t in the air, Peter isn’t at the hospital, and Dax isn’t on duty? Holy fuck.” Mitch drove, stunned. Meetings were held regularly and of the dozen men who currently resided permanently on Valhalla, they were lucky to get eight together at once. “Well, let's not waste anyone’s valuable time on their day off.” Mitch went on to explain the events that unfolded over the past forty-eight hours.

“Jesus, man. What a weekend,” Hudson said once he finished.

“You're telling me,” Mitch answered.

“We know the Los Pedro Cartel ordered their men to stay off of Valhalla,” Rider said.

“Do we know why yet?” Warren asked.

“Nothing official has been found out, pure speculation,” Dax answered, only partially lying. Nothing came down through official channels. Unofficially, a few of them knew the leader of the cartel believed to have a child living on Valhalla. None of them knew who it could be, and the small group privileged with this information hadn’t released it to the others yet.

“I still think it’s odd,” Trey said. “But hell, if it keeps them from bothering us…”

“Yeah, but they are obviously still bothering us,” Jay said.

“Do I need to ask the brotherhood to intervene on our behalf? We have church next weekend…” Maddock asked, referring to his motorcycle club. Mitch could almost hear Hudson’s head shaking through the phone.

“Not necessary. We can take care of our own but thank you,” Hudson said. “I don’t want to bring in anyone else if we don’t have to.”

“Roger,” Maddock agreed.

“To summarize, the Los Pedro Cartel put a mole on Valhalla to watch our comings and goings and report back while ordering nothing be done to anyone on the grounds, but we do not know why. Then, Garcia violated the orders and brought violence to our gates, but Hudson let him go. He died outside of Denver. Yet a rogue section of the Los Pedro Cartel is convinced we somehow had something to do with his murder and have decided to disobey orders and retaliate? To do so, they sent a message by having the dogs poisoned?” Bobby asked.

Bobby, who knew more of the details than he let on, covered down for those who weren’t read into the situation.

“Yeah. Pretty fucked up,” Jay agreed.

“They aren’t going to stop with the dogs,” Bobby said.

“No, they aren’t. I think it’s time we read everyone in,” Lance said.

“Are you sure, brother?” Hudson asked.

“I’m sure,” Lance said. “It’s threatening the entire community as a whole. The only two I don’t know are Zach and Luke but if Mitch says he can vouch for them…”

“I can. I served in the SEALs with Luke and Zach is Delta.
